Small Business Page Admins: Facebook Has Made It Easier For You To Respond To Customers

Facebook are regularly rolling out new features that can be accessed by Facebook Pages. If you blinked and missed this new addition to Facebook Pages, back in August Facebook introduced Pages Messaging, which was designed to help Page Admins communicate better with their audiences.

As a fellow Page Admin, you would understand some of the difficulties that are involved with managing a number of pages, so these new additions may come as a relief to you.

Send private messages to a Page from local awareness ads

From now, if you create a local awareness ad, you’ll be able to choose “Send Message” as a call to action (CTA) as well as all the other typical CTA’s that Facebook has offered. The advantage of having a Send Message CTA is that your customer can contact you directly from the advertisement. They may have a query about sizing, delivery, dates etc and when you receive the message, you’ll be notified which ad they are contacting you from.

Reply to comments privately with a message

In the past, Page Admins have been limited to responding to their customer in the way the customer contacted them eg private message or review or comments in the status updates. Now Facebook will allow you to send them a private message direct from their correspondence. This is especially handy if they have left a comment and you need to take the conversation to a private message – it eliminates the step of having to ask them to private message you.

Helping people identify responsive Pages

You may have noticed recently that you have a notification on the left-hand side of your Facebook Page that lets people know how responsive you are to their enquiries. If your page responds to 90% of its messages within five minutes, you will have a “Very Responsive To Messages” badge on your profile. This is fantastic news for customers because they can tell instantly whether it’s worth contacting your business via social media, and it also gives businesses an incentive to reply quickly to any enquiries on their page.

New tools for managing messages

Facebook now allow Page Admins to create and save responses to frequently asked questions, with the ability to edit any saved responses before being sent. A must-have for anyone managing pages who have many of the same questions being asked by customers. If you manage multiple accounts, it’s worth having a conversation with your client and agreeing on any FAQs up front. This way you can create the responses and save them, saving a lot of time!

To create a saved reply, go to your Messages and choose the speech bubble in the bottom right. You can then create a saved reply and even add images, or personalise the message.

What do you think of these functions – will they help you manage your page more efficiently? It has certainly helped me with my day to day responses so I’m all for it! I’ll leave you to play around with these new functions and in the meantime, stay engaged, be present and have fun!
